The Lew Electric OB-1-SH is an outside waterproof rated pop-up floor box, for outdoor ground installations. The design and installation make the box weatherproof against any type of climate, providing a safe exterior outlet.
Waterproof Stainless Steel Top
In the closed position the stainless steel top features an IP66 water protection level making it perfect for outdoor applications including; patios, pools, and outdoor kitchens. The top is also made from marine grade #316 stainless steel giving it more strength, and allowing it to withstand corrosion, pitting, and anything the outdoors can throw at it.
20 Amp GFCI Weather Resistant Outlet with Tamper Resistant Plugs
Inside the pop-up is a 20 Amp GFCI protected outlet, the 20 Amp rated outlet ensures there is enough amperage to plug in the most demanding appliances. The outlet is UL listed to meet code, and is weather resistant (WR) rated. The receptacle features tamper resistant (TR) plugs to meet code, so no harmful objects can be inserted into the plugs.
Hex Key Opening Top Pop Up for Secured Access
The top of this model features a hex key opening, this was designed to provide extra security to gain access to the power. Insert the included hex key and turn, the top will pop up so you can plug in your cord. The top then stays open just over an inch, so the lid isn’t just sitting on the cord. When you no longer need power, unplug your cord, close the lid shut, and then turn the hex key to lock shut. The hex key opening is ideal for public locations where you don't want everyone to be able to get inside the box, or even to keep kids out at your house.
Install in a Minimum of 4” of Concrete
To meet code, and to obtain the waterproof rating, the pop up was designed to be installed in a minimum of 4" of concrete. While it needs to be installed in concrete, the top can sit on any outdoor material including pavers, tile, or just the concrete by itself. The unit is gangable so you can attach other units to it for increased power needs. The overall height of the back box is 3 5/8", and the minimum depth can be adjusted upwards of 1 3/4". There are ten 1/2" knockouts in the back box giving you a multitude of choices to bring your wire into the box.
The Lew Electric OB-1-SH is the only outdoor water proof floor box on the market that can apply safe and protected power when installed correctly.
*Must be wired to a dedicated GFCI breaker. Must install in a minimum of 4” of concrete. Non-returnable once installed. Please watch installation video*

It does include the outlet.

Is there room to fit a plug into the opening?
Yes, the lid lifts up all the way so you can plug in your power. The lid then partially closes in place so the lid just isn't sitting on the cord.
